About our amazing club!
We are known throughout Wales for our friendliness and welcome to new members. We have been accredited by Newport City Council for our high standards of safety and training structure. This is provided by a team of UK Athletics Qualified coaches and Leaders. We welcome runners of all standards, because we are runners of all standards. So there's always someone to keep you company.
Every week we organise structured training sessions to help everyone improve. These are most beneficial for anyone able to complete a continuous 5k run. To get novices up & running to this standard we provide help, beginners programmes (like "Couch to 5k") and advice. We recommend the weekly Saturday parkrun (either Newport parkrun at Tredegar House or Riverfront parkrun) which the club co-organises as a great start point.
We recognise that for some people joining a running club is a daunting prospect. So we make it dead easy. Our club sessions are organised into 6 groups. If your limit is just getting around a parkrun then Group 6 is the right place to be. Come down anytime & just enjoy the club vibe. Our coaches can advise on the best group for you & absolutley nobody gets left behind...ever!
Most people run with us for a few sessions then join on line.
